Master’s Degree in Sustainability
Designed around the “Triple Bottom Line” or the three pillars of sustainability—economy, society and the environment—Everglades University’s Master’s in Sustainability helps students make their mark for sustainability in any industry. In addition to examining the impact business and society as a whole has on the environment, students will be challenged to actively imagine and pursue improvements to existing systems. They’ll learn what it takes to positively effect change in business, economic development, public policy, public health, environmental justice and more!
From clean energy to community organizing, coursework for the Master’s in Sustainability covers essential concepts for creating synergies across the needs of society, business and the environment. Courses for the graduate degree program can include, but are not limited to:
- Sustainable Business Strategy and Development
- Systems, Sustainability and the Built Environment
- Food, Culture and the Environment
- Policy, Law and Ethics of Sustainability
- Sustainable Disaster Management and Development
A capstone course is also required to help students better understand and internalize the skills and knowledge delivered throughout the program. With a well-rounded view of functions and disciplines centered on the Triple Bottom Line, graduates will have the skills needed to leverage sustainability concepts and lead initiatives for the betterment of all in any industry, public and private.
